This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application Teleprompter (“the App”), available on the Google Play Store (Android), developed and published by Ian Tuffs (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

OVERVIEW

Teleprompter is designed to work entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal information on any server, and the App does not require an internet connection to function.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

We do not collect any personal information.

All content you create in the App — including Projects, Scenes, and Scripts — is stored locally on your device only, in a local file format (JSON). This data:

Never leaves your device
Is never transmitted to us or any third party
Is never uploaded to any cloud service
Is not accessible to us in any way

We do not use analytics, crash-reporting tools, advertising SDKs, or any other third-party services that collect or transmit data.

PERMISSIONS THE APP REQUESTS

The App requests the following Android permissions, solely to provide its core functionality:

Display over other apps (“SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW”) — required to show the floating teleprompter overlay on top of other apps (e.g., video call apps, camera apps) so you can read your script while using them.
Foreground Service — required to keep the floating overlay running reliably while you use other apps.

These permissions do not grant the App access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, or any other personal data, and are not used to collect any information about you.

COOKIES & TRACKING

The App does not use cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, or any similar tracking technology. This is a native Android app, not a web-based app, and it makes no network requests.

The App does not display advertisements of any kind, including third-party or affiliate ads.

We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any data to third parties, because we do not collect any data to begin with.

DATA SECURITY

Because all data is stored locally on your device and never transmitted, its security depends on your device’s own security measures (such as your device lock screen or encryption settings). We recommend keeping your device’s operating system up to date and using a secure lock method.

DELETING YOUR DATA

Since all App data lives only on your device, you can delete it at any time by:

Deleting individual Projects, Scenes, or Scripts within the App, or
Clearing the App’s storage/data through your device’s Settings, or
Uninstalling the App

We have no copy of your data to delete on our end, as we never receive or store it.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The App does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information from any user.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

If our data practices ever change (for example, if a future version of the App adds an optional cloud backup feature), we will update this Privacy Policy accordingly and update the effective date above.
